Here are the steps to plan a quality date:

Pick a Day

Schedule a day where you are both available, then commit the date to your schedules.

Even if it's a surprise for your partner, make sure the time is cleared so you both can focus on each other!

Plan the logistics.

Preparation is sexy. Think of the practicalities that need to be in order, so you and your love and focus on your date!

Did you make reservations?

Did you fill up your gas tank?

If you have children, did you schedule a babysitter?

Stay spontaneous.

Allow life to happen. No need to stay rigid and stick to the plan. This might be difficult if you’re a rigid planner, so remind yourself the purpose of the date is to have a good time and connect. Staying on schedule is not the priority.

Leave room for spontaneity and surprise.

Put away the phones.

Nothing is less appealing than feeling unheard and unseen. Give your partner the attention they deserve!

Turn off notifications too. Don't let distractions pull you away from what really matters.

Remember your values.

Think about which purchases add value to your life and bring you joy.

In other words, don't spend money just to spend money. You can have an incredible experience on a date that doesn't cost a dime compared to a $1000 date. Put your money towards your values.

Consider your love languages. How can you tailor an experience to your love language?

If this all becomes too overwhelming, just remember why you're planning a date in the first place. This is for you, your partner, and your relationship. Quality dates show that you are dedicating time and attention to your relationship. In other words, it shows you give a damn. Quality dates are for quality relationships.
